Position Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy services to patients under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include delivering treatment, monitoring progress, and documenting outcomes, all within a structured and supportive environment.

Position Qualifications

• Graduate of an APTA approved Physical Therapist Assistant Program and licensed by the state of California.
• Special interests and experience in acute care, skilled nursing, or outpatient physical therapy is preferred.
• Proficient in performing physical therapy procedures and modalities, with the ability to assess their effectiveness.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, along with effective written and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all organizational levels.

• Maintain organized and accurate patient records, ensuring legibility and appropriate documentation.
• Ensure a safe and clean treatment environment to minimize healthcare-related errors.
• Engage with patients and families to include them in their care plans.
• Coordinate with team members to support a collaborative care approach.
• Manage patient scheduling and maintain compliance with clinic policies for charting.
• Utilize physical therapy modalities and procedures effectively.
• Stay informed about current practices and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Order supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Follow state practice act guidelines in all job functions.
