We are looking for a Senior Shopify Developer to lead the technical evolution of our high-growth storefronts on Shopify Plus. You will be a true game-changer, responsible for a complete website revamp and building custom, scalable solutions that define the future of our digital presence. What are the responsibilities of a Shopify Developer at Pattern?

• Architect & Launch: Lead the end-to-end installation of new Shopify stores, including custom theme development (Liquid/Hydrogen), module integration, and complex API configurations.

• Modernize for Agentic Commerce: Execute the migration of stores from outdated, monolithic stacks to modern, headless, or optimized Shopify environments, ensuring they are "agent-ready" with clean data structures and robust API endpoints.

• Public App Development: Build and maintain Pattern’s public Shopify applications, ensuring seamless integration between Pattern’s proprietary technology and the Shopify admin.

• Bridge the Gap: Work closely with our Data and AI teams to ensure our Shopify implementations support the next generation of automated commerce.

• Optimize for Scale: Ensure all builds meet the highest standards for performance, SEO, and global accessibility for brands operating in dozens of international markets.

• Collaborate with other Teams: Help cross-functional teams to integrate third-party systems like ERPs, CRMs, and payment gateways

What will I need to thrive in this role?

• Shopify Mastery: 5+ years of deep experience with Shopify’s ecosystem (Liquid, Shopify Flow, Scripts, and Checkout Extensibility).

• Modern Web Stack: Proficiency in React, Node.js, and Remix (the standard for Shopify App development). Experience with Hydrogen/Oxygen is a major plus.

• API Expert: Extensive experience with Shopify’s GraphQL and REST Admin APIs, as well as the Storefront API.

• Migration Veteran: A proven track record of migrating large-scale stores from platforms like Magento, Salesforce, or custom legacy stacks onto Shopify.

• Product Mindset: You don't just write code; you understand the business logic of e-commerce—from conversion rate optimization (CRO) to complex inventory fulfillment.

• Coding Proficiency: Mastery of Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

• Integration Knowledge: Skilled in managing Webhooks, Customer Events, and complex third-party API integrations.

• Performance Driven: A strong understanding of SEO, accessibility, and web performance optimization standards.

• The "Agentic" Vision: An interest in or experience with AI/LLMs and how they interface with structured e-commerce data.

What does success look like in the first 30, 60, 90 days?

• 30 Days: Complete a full technical audit of the current ecosystem, build relationships with cross-functional teams, and begin contributing to high-priority maintenance tasks.

• 60 Days: Finalize the technical roadmap for the storefront revamp and begin executing the migration of legacy systems to modern Shopify Plus standards.

• 90 Days: Successfully deploy a major architectural improvement or custom application that measurably enhances the partner experience and sets the foundation for future commerce innovations.

• This role reports directly to the Integrations Team Lead.

• In this role, you will collaborate closely with team members in brand-management operations, user-experience, and directly with key partners.
