Description

• Assess patients across various age groups, from babies to seniors, utilizing observational methods and standardized evaluations.
• Create tailored therapy plans addressing both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
• Engage in direct speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication abilities, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
• Work collaboratively with a rich interprofessional team—including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, medical doctors, families, and caregivers—to weave together comprehensive care strategies.
• Educate patients and their families to foster progress beyond the clinical setting.
• Participate in a limited number of inpatient assessments and interventions as necessary, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
• Keep thorough and timely records that comply with state, federal, and institutional requirements.
• Continuously broaden your expertise through ongoing education and engagement with fellow professionals.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not obtained yet.

Certifications

• Valid state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment.
