Overview: Seeking an experienced Senior IBMi RPG development consultant to join our team. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining applications using modern RPG Free and SQL. The primary focus is to support the development of API Layer on our CTRM IBMi application. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and be comfortable making decisions on their own. This consultation is expected to last 6+ months but may extend depending on project needs.


Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain IBMi applications in accordance with customer requirements
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to other RPG developers
• Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to identify and clarify business requirements
• Develop technical specifications and design documents
• Participate in code reviews
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure the quality of developed applications
• Provide support and troubleshooting for applications as needed
• Stay current with the latest developments in programming and related technologies

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• At least 7 years of experience in RPG programming, including experience with RPG IV and RPG Free Format
• Experience with APIs, including REST APIs
• SQL proficiency, including the ability to write and optimize queries.
• Experience with modern RPG development tools, such as Rational Developer for i (RDi) and IBMi Access Client Solutions (ACS)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Some Travel to either Overland Park, KS or Omaha, NE possible
• Familiarity with ERP systems
