Junior/ Graduate Transit & Rail Operations AnalystRole and ResponsibilitiesBe involved in supporting projects' tasks with our Railroad and Transit Team with a focus on the development and analysis of operations and service plansWork on tasks requiring analysis of a wide range of transit performance activities, train schedules and service plans, and operating plans applicable to transit agencies and passenger railroadsCollect and analyze data associated with service planning and simulation model inputs and outputsDevelop an understanding of track and signal drawings, technical specifications, trains schedules and operating plan details becoming proficient in their analysis and applicationContribute to preparation of reports pertaining to the project tasks and activities described aboveKnowledge & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Transportation, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering or related major course of study0 to 1 years of relevant post education experienceProficient in Microsoft Excel, and full Microsoft office suiteExcellent research skills with analytical mindsetCompetent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audienceProficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environmentAbility to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectivesBasic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and toolsProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesAwesome To HaveFamiliarity with Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Visio preferredFamiliarity with New York and surrounding metropolitan areas rail operationsPrior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering disciplineA member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizationsDiversity Commitment: All our partners are focused on building diverse and inclusive teams.
