Job Summary:

The Laboratory Technologist performs a variety of laboratory tests in multiple departments, ensuring accurate results to support patient diagnosis and treatment. The role involves specimen collection, equipment calibration, and adherence to safety and quality protocols.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Collect specimens through phlebotomy, including venipuncture, arterial puncture, and capillary draws, following age-specific and procedure guidelines.
  
  
• 
  Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring proper function and compliance with protocols.
  
  
• 
  Perform quality control, troubleshoot equipment issues, and prepare reagents to support lab testing.
  
  
• 
  Validate and report test results promptly and accurately, adhering to laboratory standards.
  
  
• 
  Assist in the development and review of laboratory policies and procedures.
  
  
• 
  Support training and orientation of new staff and students, promoting a collaborative team environment.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an Associates or Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
  
  
• 
  possess certification or eligibility for certification/registry as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician (AMT or ASCP).
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate knowledge of lab principles, procedures, and equipment operation.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  
  
• 
  Capable of performing phlebotomy procedures safely and effectively.
