Registered Nurse - LTAC

Job Description

Job Summary:
The High Intensity Care Unit (HICU) Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients with acute brain injuries, respiratory support needs, or complex medical conditions requiring multidisciplinary treatment and rehabilitation. The nurse works within a team to monitor and support patients' critical health status, ensuring safety and optimal recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient health status and establish individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physicians' orders.
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac functions, and respiratory status continuously.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Valid Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in high-acuity or intensive care settings, specifically HICU.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and patient management skills.
• Ability to work night shifts (3x12 hours) and every other holiday.
• Reliable attendance, with strict adherence to punctuality policies.
