Registered Nurse - PICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through advanced clinical skills and compassionate support.

Responsibilities:

Deliver direct patient care to critically ill children in the PICU setting using evidence-based practices.
Monitor and document patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatments meticulously.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Administer medications and interventions such as moderate sedation, drips, and central lines, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Float within the hospital scope to assist on NICU and Pediatric units as needed.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, certifications, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

Hold an active Maryland or Compact RN license.
Possess at least 2 years of clinical experience in a critical care setting.
Certified in BCLS and PALS, with the ability to float to NICU and Peds units.
Demonstrate proficiency in handling respiratory distress, seizures, DKA, and pain management cases.
Able to perform advanced procedures including arterial lines, CVP lines, and moderate sedation.
Willing to work night and day shifts with flexibility for weekends as scheduled.
