Registered Nurse - PICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through advanced clinical skills and compassionate support.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care to critically ill children in the PICU setting using evidence-based practices.
• Monitor and document patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatments meticulously.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and interventions such as moderate sedation, drips, and central lines, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Float within the hospital scope to assist on NICU and Pediatric units as needed.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, certifications, and licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Maryland or Compact RN license.
• Possess at least 2 years of clinical experience in a critical care setting.
• Certified in BCLS and PALS, with the ability to float to NICU and Peds units.
• Demonstrate proficiency in handling respiratory distress, seizures, DKA, and pain management cases.
• Able to perform advanced procedures including arterial lines, CVP lines, and moderate sedation.
• Willing to work night and day shifts with flexibility for weekends as scheduled.
