Success Coach

The Success Coach works closely with the Office of Student Success, and the Dean of Student Success to ensure the optimal integration of the Office of Student Success' activities with all components of the college. The Success Coach helps students develop skills, behaviors and habits that contribute to success in college. These includes academic and career goal setting, learning strategies, time management and organization, self-regulation and self-efficacy. Fosters persistence and completion by maintaining a caseload of academic warning or probation students, first time in college and/or transfer students; utilizes college's early alert software as part of this caseload maintenance. Monitors progress of students in caseload with check-ins, scheduled meetings or proactive outreach and communication, responding to student questions, concerns and needs. Determine and eliminate college barriers to student success and satisfaction. Helps students in identifying, developing, and implementing learning strategies and study skills specific to course materials. Provide information about campus/community resources and college success strategies. Assists with development of goals, objectives, and learning outcomes for the Office of Student Success, in support of the college's strategic plan. Implements Office of Student Success retention and persistence-based initiatives. Collaborates with various areas within and outside of the Student Services to facilitate student success, retention, and persistence. Conducts academic coaching through individual or group sessions that help students assess their own performance and develop academic success plans. May assist in the instruction of college 101/103 courses. Leads workshops on academic success strategies and any other related areas involving student success. Participates in college committees and task forces related to academic advising, web-registration, etc. and work closely with faculty and academic affairs to develop student-centered processes.

Bachelor's Degree and experience in student services programs.

Master's Degree in related field with 3 years experience in student services programs. No licensure required.

May need to occasionally attend meetings/conferences/workshops out of town. Evening and weekend hours to address special events will occasionally be required.
