Principal Scientist- Med Device Mircobiology

Eurofins Agroscience Services North Carolina

Principal Scientist role focused on providing technical expertise in medical device microbiology and reprocessing. Responsibilities include subject matter guidance on testing programs, method development, regulatory interactions, and cross-functional leadership in a regulated laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical subject matter expert for internal/external audits and client interactions
Provide scientific leadership on medical device reprocessing and microbiology testing programs
Support method development, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
Communicate complex technical information to clients, regulators, and cross-functional stakeholders

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in biology or microbiology
Minimum 5 years laboratory experience in microbiology, particularly antimicrobial and reprocessing testing
Deep expertise in medical device reprocessing processes and microbiological testing methods
Proficiency with ELN, LIMS, and regulatory standards (GMP, GLP, USP, ISO)
Experience with instrumentation qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and process improvement methodologies
Strong technical writing skills and ability to interpret pharmacopeial and regulatory requirements
US work authorization without sponsorship requirement
