Systems Engineering Technical Manager SWC

Salary: $156,444 - 173,555 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in engineering or a related science, technology, or mathematics discipline.
• We require at least 8 years of directly relevant experience, or a masters degree plus 6 years of relevant experience.
• We require eligibility for a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable timeframe.

• We lead engineers in developing advanced technologies, products, and services that support our mission customers.
• We define technology, tool, and process strategy across a technical domain.
• We oversee the engineering performance of the domain, including securing critical resources.
• We direct, coordinate, and integrate engineering work through completion.
• We identify project risks, evaluate issues, and drive resolutions that protect cost, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• We review project status and budgets, manage schedules, and prepare progress reports.
• We create monitoring mechanisms and intervene as needed to solve problems with project managers, line managers, clients, and stakeholders.
• We act as the liaison among project management, planning, project teams, and line management.
• We select, develop, and evaluate personnel to keep the function operating effectively.
• We handle people matters such as merit planning, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
• We contribute to technical and teaming strategies within the domain.
• We support the proposal process, including building executable project plans.
• We ensure engineering activities comply with required processes.
• We lead process improvement efforts.
• We define and implement training needs for the technical domain.
• We ensure engineers develop and maintain risk mitigation plans and risk profiles.
• We may manage budget responsibilities.
• We communicate regularly with customers, suppliers, project teams, and internal leaders.
• We receive objectives and determine how to allocate resources to achieve schedules and goals.
• We guide subordinates within established company policies and recommend process or policy changes when needed.
• We set objectives, meet commitments, and delegate work to others.
