Job Opportunity

Position: Med/Surge Nurse

Shift: 19:00 - 07:00

We are seeking dedicated Med/Surge Nurses to provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients, applying scientific nursing principles. The Med/Surge Nurse will play a vital role in the healthcare team, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications (orally, subcutaneously, or via IV) and accurately record the administration.
• Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with established policies.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and provide information on post-treatment home care needs.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, interpreting and recording electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action for patients displaying adverse symptoms.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery cases.
• Develop and implement patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as required.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
• Respond to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocols.
• Participate in discharge planning and utilize effective time management skills.
• Record all care information accurately in a timely manner using the appropriate formats and forms.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on the setting of care.

Qualifications:

• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (must be current and from the American Heart Association).
• Valid RN license in Wyoming or a multi-state RN license.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
