Assistant Director, Enterprise Applications Services

Assistant Director, Enterprise Applications Services North Orange County Community College District is seeking an Assistant Director to oversee the planning, implementation, and management of enterprise information systems and application services across the district. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and manage day‑to‑day operations of district IT applications, including scheduling, programming, testing, and documentation. Oversee configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of enterprise applications, learning management systems, HR, finance systems, and related platforms. Ensure effective integration, performance, and data consistency across all district systems. Lead feasibility studies, system analysis, and recommendations for technology enhancements or new implementations. Coordinate design and implementation of new applications, system upgrades, and data integrations. Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to the applications support team. Develop and maintain documentation and operational procedures; enforce best practices for configuration, testing, version control, and change management. Manage projects related to enterprise systems deployments and vendor contracts. Monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with service‑level agreements and evaluate solutions with consultants and third‑party providers. Supervise, train, evaluate, and provide work direction to assigned staff and foster professional development opportunities. Establish clear goals, performance standards, and accountability measures for the team. Promote cross‑functional collaboration and a culture of continuous improvement. Support annual budget planning, track and monitor assigned budgets, authorize expenditures, and ensure fiscal accountability. Analyze operational costs, identify savings opportunities, and ensure regulatory compliance with state, federal, and district policies. Implement procedures to protect data integrity, security, and confidentiality. Coordinate with internal auditors, HR, and business services for ongoing compliance. Identify emerging technologies and recommend strategies for adoption to enhance service delivery. Lead initiatives for digital transformation, automation, and process modernization. Provide reports and presentations to district leadership, faculty, and staff on system performance and initiatives. Assist in diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, including participation in training and outreach activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise applications support, systems analysis, or business process management, with at least Two (2) years of supervisory experience. Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms such as Ellucian Banner, Workday, or PeopleSoft is desirable. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity, with experience supporting diverse student and employee populations. Strong knowledge of enterprise system administration, IT service management, cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS), and application security. Ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, prioritize complex projects, and provide technical leadership. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear reports, correspondence, and presentations. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for district activities. Valid candidate identification and eligibility to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).
