About the Position

Job Title: Travel RN Stepdown/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in a hospital setting License: Must have state license or compact Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Proficient in telemetry Description: Travel RN for stepdown/telemetry unit. Must have 2 years of experience in a hospital setting. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Unit specializes in cardiac procedure patients. Provides care for STEMI, NSTEMI, PCI, groin or radial access, and post Cath lab nursing. Handles chest pain rule-out, CHF, COPD cardiac management, chest tubes, hi-flow and Bi-pap. Involves procedures such as pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis, PD, trachs, pacemakers, and CIWA. Patient ratio is 4:1 with a team of 5 RNs. Team includes 2 Patient Care Assistants and a Unit Clerk. Utilizes equipment such as IV pumps, Hoyer lifts, and bladder scanners. Documentation system is Meditech Expanse. Scheduling requirement includes 3 twelve-hour shifts and every other weekend. Floating policy applies to travelers. Focus on patient experience through bedside shift rounds and personal connections. Unit has received recognition for excellence in care. Advanced skills in telemetry are required. Professional garb is the required uniform. All unit-specific policies and guidelines will be provided.
