** About the Position **

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Accounting team in Farmingdale, NY. In this role, you will process customer payments, maintain accurate account records, assist with collections, and work closely with customers, Sales, and Accounting to resolve account questions and payment discrepancies.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing accounting responsibilities with professional customer communication in a fast-paced environment.

** Key Responsibilities **

Accounts Receivable

• Accurately process and post customer payments, including checks, ACH/EFT payments, and credit card transactions.
• Maintain customer account records and assist with account reconciliations.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, deductions, and account variances.
• Prepare and review accounts receivable reports.
• Assist with month-end accounts receivable processes.

Collections and Customer Support

• Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances and past-due invoices.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding invoices, payments, statements, and account questions.
• Partner with the Sales team to resolve account issues while maintaining positive customer relationships.
• Provide internal updates regarding account status, payment concerns, and collection activity.

Additional Responsibilities

• Review and reconcile daily driver paperwork and deposits.
• Respond to inquiries from customers and internal departments.
• Assist with audits and other Accounting department needs.
• Cross-train on department functions and provide backup support as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

** Qualifications **

• Three to five years of accounts receivable experience preferred.
• Experience with customer collections and account follow-up preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience using accounting or ERP software preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Farmingdale Monday through Friday.
• Successful completion of a background check required.
