Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Float is a high-responsibility role designed for someone who can wear multiple hats. This position provides clinical, administrative, and documentation support across psychiatric and medical clinics.

The CMA Float will primarily support psychiatric medication management clinics, assist in medical clinic days, perform scribe duties when assigned, and step in wherever coverage is needed. This is not a single-provider assignment. The ideal candidate is comfortable supporting multiple providers in a fast-paced behavioral health setting and can confidently adapt to changing clinic needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Support high-volume psychiatric medication management clinics
• Provide coverage for medical clinic days as scheduled
• Perform rooming, vital signs, and direct patient care
• Administer injections (psychiatric and medical)
• Collect and document UDS per controlled substance protocols
• Assist with stimulant and controlled medication monitoring workflows
• Provide real-time scribing support during provider visits when assigned
• Assist with prior authorizations and medication refill processes
• Triage nurse calls and route appropriately
• Travel between Plano and Fort Worth locations as needed
• Follow providers to ensure accurate documentation and efficient clinic flow
• Adjust schedule or remain flexible based on coverage demands
• Responsibilities may evolve as the practice continues to grow. Duties are subject to change at the discretion of the Physicians and Practice Administrator.

What We’re Looking For

Experience: Minimum 1 year of MA experience required. Experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, primary care, or internal medicine strongly preferred. Experience with high-volume clinics and controlled medication workflows is highly preferred.

Skills: Strong multitasking abilities, excellent documentation skills, and comfort scribing during patient visits. Ability to prioritize tasks in fast-paced clinic environments.

Flexibility: Must be adaptable and confident stepping into different provider assignments without extensive supervision.

Professionalism: Compassionate, team-oriented, reliable, and able to maintain strict patient confidentiality.

Transportation: Reliable transportation required. Primary assignment in Plano with scheduled travel to Fort Worth as needed.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday. Flexibility required to meet clinic coverage needs.
