Waikiki Health's mission is to provide quality medical and social services that are accessible and affordable for everyone, regardless of ability to pay.Our ValuesWe are committed to providing the highest quality care and services to our island community.We believe that respect is the foundation of our interpersonal relationships.We maintain empathy and kindness, treating everyone as ohana.We are creative and flexible in meeting community needs.We will help empower others to reach their highest potential.We are accountable to the community we serve and to each other.Waikiki Health is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant.Pay rate for this role is $22.50 per hour.Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40-hour work week.BenefitsHealth insurance (Employee only) 100% premium paid once eligible.13 Paid holidays.403(b) Retirement Plan Participation effective within 4 weeks of employment.Matching is offered once eligible with a 3-year vesting period.PerksHOLO Bus Pass benefits.BIKI bike rental benefits.Company Shirt.The Dental Assistant supports the dentist by preparing patients for treatment, providing direct chairside assistance during clinical procedures, and ensuring all instruments and treatment rooms are sterile and ready for use.Qualifications and abilitiesEducation: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent level of reading and writing literacy.Training: Must have completed a dental assisting program, recognized training course, or equivalent in-office training.Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of standard office dental practices, techniques, and sterilization procedures is required.Tech Skills: Basic computer proficiency is necessary to access and update electronic dental records.Certification: Must hold a current CPR/BLS certification for Healthcare Professionals from the AHA or American Red Cross.General Duties include but are not limited toFour-Handed Dentistry: Assist the dentist directly during clinical procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.Patient Care Flow: Prepare patients for treatment, review health histories, take vital signs, and maintain a steady patient flow.Infection Control: Set up and break down operatories while maintaining a sterile environment according to infection control procedures.Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop dental radiographs as prescribed by the dentist.Patient Care & Lab Support: Review and discuss treatment consent forms with patients, provide detailed oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions, and perform lab duties including taking impressions, pouring models, and fabricating custom trays.Other duties as assigned*Waikiki Health requires proof of the following immunization; with or without reasonable accommodation: TB skin test or chest x-ray, Hep B (optional).
