Job Description Special Education Teacher 24/25 SY – Derby Public Schools, Derby, CT. Location: Derby, CT 06418 Position Type: Contract Client: Derby Public Schools Minimum 1+ years special education experience required. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for 11th and 12th grade students in resource settings. Provide specialized instruction and support to students with various disabilities. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development. Utilize evidence‑based practices and interventions to meet the unique needs of each student. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of student progress and development. Qualifications Valid Special Education licensure required. Experience working in resource settings preferred. Strong understanding of IEPs and special education regulations. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Passion for working with students with diverse needs and commitment to their development.
