Accounting Supervisor- Orland Park, IL

Are you an experienced accounting professional who enjoys leading a team and making sure the details are done right? CTF Illinois is looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and knowledgeable professional to join our team as an Accounting Supervisor . In this role, you’ll oversee key accounting functions, support and develop a small accounting team, and help ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of our financial operations. What You'll Do Oversee and support a team of 2–3 accounting professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to promote accountability and professional growth. Manage and review Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing, payment batches, vendor reconciliations, AP aging, and discrepancy resolution. Review payroll reports for accuracy and compliance and serve as a backup for payroll processing and employee inquiries. Maintain payroll system configurations and support annual payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and Third-Party Sick Pay (3PSP) reporting. Review cash application activity to ensure accurate posting and reconciliation of customer payments. Coordinate and review month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial workbooks, and reporting schedules. Prepare audit documentation and reconciliations and provide support for internal and external audits. Assist with maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring compliance with accounting policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities to improve accounting and payroll processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen accuracy. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment while helping team members build their accounting knowledge and skills. Strong experience and knowledge in Accounts Payable and Payroll. Strong understanding of accounting processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
