Registered Nurse, PACU

• Assess individuals, families, and/or communities to identify potential health or safety problems
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms, patient-condition changes, and vital signs
• Modify patient treatment plans according to patient responses and conditions
• Develop and modify patient care plans
• Prepare patients for and assist with examinations and treatments
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity
• Direct and supervise less-skilled nursing/healthcare personnel
• Instruct individuals and families on health education, disease prevention, and aftercare
• Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients
• Administer, document, and reassess medications
• Promote positive patient experience
• Adhere to ANA standards of professional nursing and the ANA Code of Ethics
• Apply critical thinking, evidence-based practices, and competence to promote patient safety and quality outcomes
• Utilize the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas in daily practice

Requirements Associate's Degree Required One year experience in a direct patient care setting preferred BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association Required PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support – AHA – American Heart Association Required within 6 months of hire TNCC, TCAR, ASPAN, (CPAN or CAPA) Preferred Adherence to Standards of Professional Nursing Practice/Process/Performance and accrediting body standards Knowledge of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess patient status and interpret cultural information Completed and met clinical competency standards Ability to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures Ability to communicate clearly Microsoft Office Suite required EPIC documentation preferred All job applicants for safety-sensitive positions must pass a pre-employment drug test after a conditional offer Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in patient assessment, care planning, and administration of nursing care while adhering to professional standards and ethical guidelines.
