About the Homecoming Project Using the sharing economy model, the Homecoming Project (THP) at Impact Justice (IJ) pairs individuals returning home from prison with welcoming community residents (hosts) who have a room in their homes to spare. The Homecoming Project pays each host a daily stipend for housing the participant for up to 6 months. THP participants are provided a Community Navigator that works to connect them to the resources, supports, and wraparound services necessary for community re‑entry. This innovative reentry housing project began in the Bay Area in 2018 and to date has housed more than 200 returning individuals into homes within the community. Who You Are You are a detail‑oriented person who wants to join a team that is expanding its impact. In this role, you will be an integral part of supporting The Housing Lab’s deliverables and development by working on various tasks to ensure programmatic success. You are a self‑starter, can work independently, have excellent attention to detail and communication skills, and are adept at time management and organization. You have strong computer skills and can use Microsoft Office Suite, Google G‑Suite, Salesforce and other information database systems quickly. You have highly developed interpersonal skills with good relationship‑building techniques and excellent customer service. Description The Homecoming Project Operations & Administration Support: Responsible for data entry of program stakeholders, including hosts and participants. This role facilitates a seamless participant and host application experience and placement by creating, conducting, and supporting housing agreements, payment schedules, home inspections, generation of host and participant applications, and ensuring all documentation is completed and filed appropriately. The position also coordinates and schedules logistics related to training and onboarding activities such as interviews, meet & greet meetings, background checks, virtual and in‑person trainings, check‑in conversations, exit interviews, and other progress conversations. Participant Recruitment and Onboarding, Event Attendance and Coordination: Attend recruitment and onboarding presentations for participants as needed and support event operations across all Housing Lab functions (peer support groups, financial literacy classes, partner functions, recruitment and onboarding events, etc.). Support may include attendance and meeting reminder calls, coordination and scheduling, venue recommendations/bookings, calibrating of materials, agenda generation, and other tasks as assigned. The Homecoming Project Participant Processing Support: Receive and process postal and electronic mail, enter and update data for potential participants into the Salesforce CRM, manage procurement and purchasing, coordinate and manage the resources provided to participants, and perform other tasks as assigned. Support participant application and screening processes and follow‑up, including document collection, verification, and upload. Bay Area Match Meeting Conversations: Serve as the main point of contact for applicants until they are moved from the “applicant” to “placed” stage. Participate in weekly Match Conversations, update the agenda with participant information, generate and use reports from Salesforce, and collaborate with host leads and Manager to support host‑participant pairings. Salesforce Optimization: Work to optimize the Salesforce CRM, provide feedback to improve processes, document agreed‑upon processes in the operational guide, and use Salesforce tools to execute payments to hosts, provide data for grant deliverables, and deliver periodic reports that track program health metrics. Executive Assistant to Housing Lab: Support the Director of the Housing Lab and the Leadership Team by managing calendars, coordinating meetings, handling time‑sensitive and confidential communications, and expense reimbursements. Also support day‑to‑day operations, purchasing, and wellness initiatives such as researching icebreaker activities, drafting agendas, or registering team members for a conference. Other duties as assigned. Education / Experience Level At least 3 years of similar administrative or professional experience, or closely related experience. Required Qualifications Comfortable working with remote team members. Self‑starter. Proven time‑management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Able to juggle multiple simultaneous project elements and tasks. Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people, including individuals impacted by the criminal legal system, staff, and diverse backgrounds. Tech‑savvy: comfortable with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Asana, and databases/case management systems. Experience working in Salesforce or other data management software. Preferred Qualifications Professional operations/administrative experience with or within the criminal legal system. Background in social work, public health, or housing justice. Experience with criminal justice system. Multilingual capacity (e.g., Spanish) is a plus. Additional Requirements Oakland, CA office based position with Hybrid eligibility. Must maintain a valid California driver’s license and have a reliable vehicle with proof of insurance. Requires frequent local travel within the Bay Area to conduct home inspections; mileage reimbursement provided. Mandatory travel to attend training, outreach and partner meetings, host and participant meetings, conferences, and visits to Impact Justice offices in the Bay Area or other locations, estimated to be less than 10% of the time. Limited evening and weekend commitments may be required. Benefits Fixed starting salary of $70,304, with annual increases defined by the collective bargaining agreement. This is a bargaining unit position with Impact Justice United represented by OPEIU International. Benefits include medical, dental, and FSA plans, significant vacation and wellness leave, and immediate vesting with a generous 401(k) match. This is a full‑time, salaried position. Hybrid schedule out of the Oakland office at least two times per week; additional days as required. Remote applicants are not considered.
