About the Opportunity

A well-established national, multi-office insurance defense law firm is seeking a Florida-licensed Associate Attorney to join its Automotive Liability Defense practice in Orlando.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 2–5 years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience who is looking to expand their litigation practice, gain meaningful courtroom experience, and advance their legal career.

Automotive Liability Defense experience is preferred, but attorneys with strong Civil Litigation or Insurance Defense backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an active caseload involving Automotive Liability and Insurance Defense litigation .
• Handle matters involving motor vehicle accidents, negligence claims, and related liability disputes.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other litigation proceedings.
• Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, evidence review, and exhibit organization.
• Evaluate liability, damages, and potential litigation exposure.
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, expert witnesses, and insurance carriers.
• Ensure compliance with court deadlines and client reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff to ensure efficient case management.

Qualifications

• Active Florida Bar license in good standing required.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• 2–5 years of Insurance Defense or Civil Litigation experience.
• Automotive Liability Defense experience preferred.
• Experience handling motor vehicle accident or negligence litigation is a plus.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Experience with depositions, court hearings, and motion practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to independently manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
