Lead CT Technologist

Role Overview The CT Technologist performs a variety of advanced imaging procedures, ensuring safe, accurate, and age-appropriate patient care. They set up equipment, position patients, and execute protocols including TAVR, Cardiac CTA, and lung screenings. The role requires independent judgment, technical proficiency, and mentoring abilities, with functional oversight of the department in the absence of leadership. Responsibilities Verify orders, obtain patient history, and assess contraindications. Administer contrast media safely and ensure proper patient identification and labeling. Review images for diagnostic quality, respond to emergencies, and monitor patient conditions. Maintain patient privacy, comfort, and communication, explaining procedures clearly. Perform and post-process advanced protocols, ensuring radiation safety and image quality. Manage departmental workflow, supplies, and equipment maintenance. Contribute to quality control, regulatory compliance, and process improvement initiatives. Assist in training, onboarding, and mentoring fellow technologists. Collaborate with leadership on protocol implementation and department operations. Qualifications & Skills Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. ARRT Radiography (ARRT-R) and CT (ARRT-CT) certifications. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, including 1 year in CT. Valid BLS certification. Strong communication, customer service, and multitasking skills. In-depth knowledge of anatomy, pathology, radiation safety, and quality control. Ability to operate all CT equipment, perform advanced protocols, and mentor others. Ability to work independently, under pressure, and as part of a team. Key Duties Provide safe, efficient imaging services following physician orders and departmental procedures. Ensure image quality and diagnostic acceptability. Maintain department standards, equipment, and supplies. Support departmental leadership and participate in quality and process improvements.
