Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 26 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: Not specified

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience required in high acuity and high pace environment, preferred 5 years of high risk experience
• Valid and active compact license
• Certifications: BLS, NRP required; ACLS and AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic fetal monitoring

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care during labor and delivery, including functioning as the Baby Nurse during delivery and continuing care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum.
• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health, including recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Administer medications and therapies as ordered, including insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and administer Vitamin K injections to newborns.
• Support breastfeeding and lactation needs of new mothers.
• Assist in high risk deliveries and recover C-sections as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient care.

Compliance / Notes:

• Pre-approved time off will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
• Must be willing to float between facilities as needed.
• Commitment to work every other weekend and holidays as needed is required.
