Purpose of Job Profile
The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist role provides operational EHS support to assigned projects and contracts. The role assists project teams in implementing legal, customer, and company EHS requirements while promoting safe work practices and supporting the Target Zero culture.

Responsibilities and Outcomes
a.
EHS Compliance and Governance




Implement and support implementation of legal, customer, and company EHS requirements




Assist in EHS compliance checks for assigned projects and sites




Perform REHS and permit-to-work reviews and verifications




Support implementation of applicable environmental requirements and controls




Maintain project EHS records and compliance requirements




Participate in EHS meetings, toolbox talks, and project reviews

Operational Control and Site Assurance




Participate in EHS inspections and site assessments




Support verification of implementation of required EHS controls




Monitor closure of corrective and preventive actions




Escalate observed unsafe conditions and non-compliances




Provide EHS guidance to project teams and suppliers within area of responsibility

Risk, Incident, and Opportunity Management




Support preparation and maintenance of EHS project plans




Participate in risk assessments and implementation of control measures




Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions




Assist in incident investigations and corrective action tracking




Support identification of opportunities for EHS performance improvement
d.
Roles, Responsibilities, and Competence




Support verification of EHS competencies and certifications




Conduct EHS inductions, awareness sessions, and training activities




Support onboarding of supplier and project personnel on EHS requirements




Maintain training and competence records.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting




Collect and maintain EHS performance data




Support preparation of EHS reports and KPI tracking




Escalate identified risks, trends, and compliance gaps




Maintain project EHS documentation and records

Awareness, Communication, and Continuous Improvement




Promote safe work practices and EHS awareness




Participate in EHS campaigns and communications




Support sharing of lessons learned and best practices




Contribute improvement ideas for EHS processes and performance

Work Arrangement and Schedule




Office-based EHS activities




Work in accordance with project requirements, up to 48 hours per week

Job Stage Description
This role at JS4 is a professional specialist position that applies practical EHS knowledge to support project delivery and operational compliance. The role works independently on routine EHS activities while receiving guidance on more complex issues and contributes to the implementation of EHS programs, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Leadership: Accountable for own deliverables and actively contributes to project and team objectives




Complexity: Resolves routine EHS issues using established procedures and escalates complex matters as appropriate

Qualifications and Experience
a.
Minimum Qualifications




Bachelor's degree and/or recognized formal qualification in Environmental and/or Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., Degree or Diploma in EHS, NEBOSH International Diploma, or equivalent)




Minimum of 2 years relevant EHS experience or demonstrated capability in EHS compliance, inspections, risk assessment, or operational support activities

Valuable Experience




Exposure to telecommunications, energy, construction, manufacturing or industrial operations




Experience supporting EHS activities, inspections, training, or compliance monitoring




Experience working in field-based operations is an advantage
