Underwriter - Commercial Real Estate

Context We are currently supporting a leading financial institution in the search for a Commercial Real Estate Associate to join its Real Estate lending platform in New York. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full transaction lifecycle, supporting senior bankers and deal teams in the underwriting, execution and closing of commercial real estate transactions , while gaining exposure to capital markets and securitization processes. Key Responsibilities Support senior bankers and deal teams in evaluating and executing new commercial real estate lending opportunities. Perform financial analysis and prepare initial underwriting based on loan submission packages and market data. Lead the underwriting and execution of signed transactions through closing, coordinating with internal teams including credit, pricing, legal, and KYC. Manage third-party consultants and due diligence providers involved in the transaction process. Prepare asset summary reports and financial models for portfolio monitoring and securitization purposes. Support capital markets and distribution teams during syndication or securitization processes, including responding to investor and rating agency inquiries. Maintain accurate deal data across internal systems and workflow management platforms. Maintain regular communication with brokers and clients, providing feedback and managing expectations throughout the transaction lifecycle. Assist in reviewing new loan requests and contributing to pipeline management and deal flow analysis. Ensure all transactions comply with internal lending policies, underwriting guidelines, and business procedures. Requirements 5–10 years of experience within a bank or non-bank Commercial Real Estate lending platform . Strong understanding of commercial real estate underwriting, valuation and loan execution processes . Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel . Experience with Argus and/or Rockport is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced deal environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
