Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist 2

The Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist 2 performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist the physicians during cardiovascular procedures and surgeries.

Core Job Functions:

• Uses imaging equipment to help doctors detect and treat any heart and blood vessel issues.
• Takes patients' medical history and answers patients' questions before any procedure is done.
• Ensures that the equipment is in good working order and ready for use.
• Maintains Sterile Scrub Technique.
• Assists Electrophysiology (EP) Cardiologist during diagnostic and invasive procedures.
• Assists with Catheter Ablation for cardiac arrhythmias.
• Setups, measures and records advanced diagnostic cardiac rhythm values, and troubleshoot.
• Assists the physician with inserting catheters and other invasive procedures.
• Performs advanced data manipulation to assist with electrophysiology studies and ablations.
• Assist with implantation of device for cardiac rhythm management.
• Works in collaboration with the medical staff and department leadership to recommend and maintain the supply chain of products in the Electrophysiology (EP) suite.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications:

• Education: Associate degree in relevant field required
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
• Certification and Licensing: Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements
