Position Overview We are seeking a Director of Speech Therapy to lead our team of dedicated pediatric speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and speech-language pathology assistants (SLPAs). This role will oversee clinical operations, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality speech and language therapy services that align with our mission. The ideal candidate is an experienced and passionate speech-language pathologist who is ready to take on a leadership role while maintaining a small caseload. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Clinical Oversight Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to SLPs, SLPAs, and support staff. Ensure therapy services align with best practices, compliance standards, and the clinic’s mission. Monitor clinical quality, productivity, and patient outcomes, implementing improvements as needed. Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new speech therapy team members. Patient Care & Program Development Maintain a small caseload, providing direct therapy services to children with speech, language, and communication disorders. Develop and refine speech therapy programs, incorporating innovative techniques and play-based interventions. Collaborate with occupational, physical, and behavioral therapists to develop comprehensive treatment plans. Provide clinical oversight for feeding and swallowing therapy programs (experience preferred but not required). Family & Community Engagement Act as a key resource for parents and caregivers, ensuring they understand and feel confident in their child’s therapy journey. Educate families on home programs and strategies to support skill development outside of therapy sessions. Build relationships with referring providers, schools, and community organizations to promote awareness of our services. Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards. Monitor staff scheduling and workload distribution to maximize efficiency and patient access to services. Stay current with industry trends, therapy innovations, and legal requirements affecting pediatric speech therapy. Qualifications Education & Licensure: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current California SLP license (or eligibility for licensure). ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required. <> Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of pediatric speech-language pathology experience. Prior leadership, mentorship, or supervisory experience strongly preferred. Experience with feeding and swallowing therapy is a plus but not required. Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with a passion for developing clinical staff. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines. Highly organized, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
