This role includes preparing patients for procedures, assisting chairside during surgery, monitoring vitals, taking digital X-rays, sterilizing instruments, and providing post-operative instructions. Additional clerical support may be needed as part of our collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities Welcome and prepare patients for surgery Take digital X-rays and scans Assist the surgeon during procedures (suction, instrument exchange, monitoring) Monitor patient positioning and vital signs Document treatment information as needed Provide clear post-operative instructions Sterilize instruments and prepare surgical trays Take impressions when required Suffolk Oral Surgery Associates, LLP reserves the right to modify responsibilities as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (Dental Assistant certification preferred) 13 years of surgical assisting experience preferred; dental assisting experience considered CPR certification required; DAANCE certification a plus Ability to travel between three office locations Availability for occasional weekend hours Skills & Attributes Strong communication skills and calm, professional demeanor Attentive, proactive, and team-oriented Ability to follow direction and monitor patient needs effectively
