Senior Accounting Manager

Job Description

We are partnering with a prominent professional services firm to identify a Senior Manager of Accounting Operations to join its Chicago-based finance leadership team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of critical accounting functions, lead process improvements, and help drive operational excellence within an established, sophisticated professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Credit functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong internal controls.
\n
• financial activities, reporting, reconciliations, and key performance metrics to support sound financial management.
\n
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance automation, strengthen systems, and implement scalable best practices.
\n
• Support internal and external audits, maintain compliance with financial policies, and ensure adherence to established accounting procedures.
\n
• Develop and mentor accounting professionals while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
\n
• Collaborate with finance leadership and other departments to improve reporting, resolve operational challenges, and support broader business objectives.

Ideal Background:

• Progressive accounting experience with demonstrated leadership of operational accounting functions.
\n
• Strong knowledge of AP, AR, credit management, financial controls, and accounting processes.
\n
• Experience driving process improvements, implementing efficiencies, and managing teams.
\n
• Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
\n
