Senior Accounting Manager

NSK America is the North American arm of Nakanishi Inc., its Japanese parent company and a global manufacturer of precision dental, surgical, and industrial products trusted by professionals worldwide.

We’re looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to join our growing organization.

This newly created position offers the opportunity to take real ownership of our day-to-day accounting operations. As our Controller assumes broader responsibilities, you’ll step in to lead the accounting team, strengthen processes, and ensure the financial accuracy that supports the business.

This is a true working manager role. You’ll mentor and develop your team while remaining actively involved in the work. If you lead by example, take pride in getting the details right, and approach challenges with a genuine can-do attitude, you can make an immediate impact here.

What you’ll lead

• Monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including GAAP-compliant financial statements and variance analysis
• General ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses
• Accounts receivable, credit policies, collections, aging, and customer credit exposure
• Accounts payable, vendor payments, cash-flow forecasting, and working capital
• Inventory valuation, costing, cycle counts, and collaboration with Operations and Purchasing
• Sales/use, property, and other tax filings, along with external audits and tax-advisor relationships
• Internal controls, accounting policies, process improvements, and ERP enhancements
• Coaching, mentoring, and development of the accounting team

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• 3–5+ years in an accounting leadership or supervisory role
• Strong experience with financial reporting, general ledger accounting, month-end close, and internal controls
• Experience overseeing AR, credit, collections, and AP
• Experience supporting audits and tax compliance
• ERP implementation or optimization experience preferred
• Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial experience is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for mentoring others
