Youth Mental Health Therapist (Licensed)

Spill The Tea Cafe (“STTC”), a youth-centered mental health organization dedicated to providing compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care to adolescents, young adults, and families across Hawaiʻi is looking to hire a licensed 1099 Independent Contractor to deliver individual therapy to youth and young adults. STTC is 4 years old now and we pride ourselves on collaboration, integrity, learning, autonomy, creativity, and connection. We are currently seeking independently licensed mental health clinicians who are passionate about working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families in a collaborative and mission-driven setting. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, trauma-informed, and committed to providing ethical, high-quality mental health care. Clinicians will provide individual, family, and/or group therapy services both virtually and in person while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support the emotional well-being of Hawaiʻi’s youth and families. Job Type 1099 Independent Contractor Flexible caseload opportunities available Hybrid opportunities available Location in Honolulu Schedule Flexible scheduling Contractor determines availability Monday through Sunday availability welcome Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability strongly preferred Hybrid services available: in-person and telehealth Requirements Active and independent Hawaiʻi license as an LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, or Psychologist, PhD/PsyD Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or related mental health field Ability to independently provide psychotherapy services in accordance with Hawaiʻi licensing regulations and ethical standards Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and organizational skills Experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and/or families preferred Experience utilizing evidence-based interventions such as CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed approaches preferred Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance Responsibilities Provide individual, family, and group counseling services virtually and/or in person Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs Evaluate client progress and update treatment plans as clinically appropriate Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis intervention when clinically indicated Collaborate with families, schools, healthcare providers, and community supports as appropriate and with proper consent Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality, HIPAA, and ethical standards Stay informed of current best practices and developments in the mental health field Provide supervision to interns or trainees (if willing) at a separate rate mutually agreed upon by the contractor and organization
