Job Title

Registered Nurse – Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CVU)

Location

Hilo, HI

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shift | 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care to patients in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit, including Step-Down ICU and telemetry beds
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading
• Conduct fingerstick blood sugar monitoring and related bedside assessments
• Utilize Meditech for clinical documentation and Pyxis for medication administration
• Operate and monitor equipment including BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring devices
• Float to other acute care units within the facility, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and Emergency departments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active State of Hawaii RN license required by assignment start date
• Minimum of 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Ability to maintain patient ratios of 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU
• Willingness to float to all acute inpatient units as assigned
• Professional scrubs required per dress code

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Progressive Care and telemetry nursing experience strongly preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• Current PALS certification preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
