Primarily a back-office role, this position occasionally requires covering the Rutland counter, where you'll interact face-to-face with the public. Responsibilities include lifting and sorting mail, with weights ranging from 25-50 lbs. Please note, this is not a remote position. Although the full salary range for this position is provided, new hires are typically made at the salary range minimum. Applicants will have the right to withdraw their applications before finger-printing and/or a background investigation is conducted.Environmental Factors Incumbents must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure before the public eye and from telephone inquiries. Due to significant public contact exposure to contagious illnesses is a daily risk. Incumbents must be able to multi-task and prioritize unpredictable workloads. Employees must be able to deal with confused, frustrated, and highly upset customers and handle large sums of money. Within the office setting, normal workplace conditions prevail. Occasional trips outdoors when verifying vehicle identification numbers. Incumbents must be able to perform several job duties within several different units possibly in the same day. The incumbent must be able to travel to other offices with minimal notice to assist when staffing shortages occur and various scheduled hours. Private means of transportation may be required. Overtime work may be required.
