Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Class E driver license. Numerically based work sample administered with an established minimum passing score. Additional Requirements Regulatory responsibilities subject to Florida Statutes and F.A.C. provisions. Moderate travel required, including overnight and sometimes up to two weeks on an emergency program. Must reside in required county or counties throughout employment. Successful applicants must pass a background screening, including fingerprinting. Alternate work hours and overtime may be required to accomplish inspection duties. Job Duties Comply with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Conduct field audits on required documentation. Monitor permanent parks and temporary shows for operations based on manufacturer manuals, operating documents, and SOPs. Observe deficiencies and issue notice of correction or stop operation orders if applicable. Compile field audit reports and upload documentation into database. Propose administrative actions if applicable. Review, investigate, and prepare documentation for accident reports when scheduled. Assist inspection specialists when conducting inspections on amusement rides when scheduled. Educate new companies on Florida inspection laws, rules, regulations, and procedures. Submit travel documentation and expenses incurred for reimbursement. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of techniques and equipment needed for amusement device or attraction set-up, maintenance, and operation. Knowledge of applicable safety requirements and terminology used in the amusement device or attraction industry. Knowledge of basic principles of power, mechanical motion, structural assembly, stress, and fatigue. Knowledge of basic principles of electrical, mechanical, and structural operation, and stress testing and analysis. Ability to lift and carry up to forty pounds. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to frequently bend, kneel, climb, stand, and walk several hours each day; work on uneven terrain. Ability to work at heights of up to forty feet. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Ability to read and understand fabrication and assembly drawings, manufacturer's equipment specifications, and operation and maintenance procedures. Ability to conduct amusement device or attraction inspections. Skill in the use of equipment needed to conduct amusement device or attraction inspections. Benefits Annual and Sick Leave benefits.
