Database Service DbaInterview: Video Location: Bethlehem, PA or Holmdel, NJ. Local candidates only. The Database Service is scheduled to work Monday through Friday 8:00 AM ET till 5:00 PM ET. The resource will be required to work 2 days per week in either the Bethlehem or Holmdel office. We operate on a 24x7x365 using an on-call rotation which the candidate will be a part of. Visa: USC and GC This is hybrid from day -1 (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY IN EITHER HOLMDEL, NJ OR BETHLEHEM, PA)You have: In-depth knowledge and troubleshooting skills in the following:Must have skills:10+ years of MS SQL Server DBA experienceMS SQL Server replication, always on, and mirroring experienceSQL coding and tuning experiencePower Shell scripting and automation experienceSQL Server Management Studio experienceWorking knowledge of SSIS and SSRSAWS/Cloud Services experience: EC2, RDS, and Aurora Cloud deployments experience: Jenkins, Bitbucket, TerraformHands-on, technically adept DBA, capable of performing required DB tasksStrong troubleshooting/performance tuning skillsAbility to assess and improve SQL performanceUnderstanding of MS SQL Server underlying storage engineAbility to Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessaryExpert level MS SQL Server RDBMS installation/configuration, patching, troubleshooting, performance tracking/tuning, back-up/recovery, remote monitoring skills with hands-on experience in large and very dynamic environmentsStrong commitment to following SDLC/Change-Management principlesSelf-starter and be able to perform work with minimal supervisionKnowledge of data quality, data management, and data testing strategies and practicesStrong communication skills, both oral and writtenStrong experience working with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Zenoss, Foglight, or other monitoring tools, Cloud monitoring tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail), AppDynamics (or similar APM tool)Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsKeen analytical and structured approach to problem solvingAbility to accommodate flexible work schedulesDesired skills:Ability to diagnose problems and triage/resolve issues across various tiers (application, network, database, server, or storage tiers)Ability to implement automation to reduce manual administrative tasks through use of jobs, scripts, or other techniquesExperience in DB2 UDB, Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, and/or Cassandra is plusExperience with configuration management tools: SCCM; Puppet; or Ansible.Development or enhancement of training and upskilling programsBachelor's Degree or similar requiredYou will:Be part of an on-call rotation providing 24x7x365 incident and outage response, including non-business hours supportPerform initial investigation and/or troubleshooting of database and database system issues to resolve issue & determine root causeProcess all support requests within SLA by following procedural requirementsEscalate to vendors, where necessary, to ensure timely resolutionThoroughly document steps taken to resolve incidents and fulfill catalog requests within ServiceNow ticketsDevelop, document, and update standard operating procedures and knowledgebase articlesIdentify, address, and resolve repeating alert trends to improve stability and performanceSuggest defects and product/infrastructure enhancements to improve stability and automationParticipation in periodic skills enhancement sessions and training coursesBe a project lead, as well as a project participant for various activities: cloud migration, lifecycle management, application modernization, capacity planning, financial optimization, performance, and stability optimization, build and design state configuration automation, etc.
