Job Title: Adjunct Faculty, MDC Online (English Composition) Location: Wolfson Campus Regular/Temporary: Temporary Full/Part Time: Part-Time Job ID: 1008089 Job Details: Job Family: FAC- Part-Time Faculty, Credit Classes; Grade: P1; Salary: $54.37 - Base Rate; Department: MDC Online; Reports To: Academic Director of the MDC Online; Closing Date: Posted on an Ongoing Basis; FLSA Status: Exempt- Not Eligible for Overtime Compensation; First Review Date: May 30, 2025 Position Overview This Adjunct faculty position teaches online English Composition credit courses for MDC Online. What you will be doing Facilitates student learning in online courses Manages online courses through the LMS (learning management system) and its tools Interacts with students online via discussion, chat, and emails at least three times a week Evaluates and advises students Provides feedback on the course to course developers Participates in departmental and College affairs Performs other duties as assigned What you need to succeed Master’s degree in English or Linguistics; or Master’s in Fine Arts in Creative Writing; or Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English/Creative Writing or a concentration of writing related courses from the above disciplines. In addition, for ENC2300 and LIT2480, six graduate hours in Oral Communications required. Check English Education to be sure they are not methodology courses. Must have basic computer software and Internet skills Must be a Florida resident Must obtain MDC Online Certification by successfully completing specific online training provided by the College upon hiring Preferences Previous online teaching experience preferred Additional Requirements The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process. #J-18808-Ljbffr Miami Dade College
