Job Brief: Behavior Technician / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
ACES is seeking a student-centered Behavior Technician, preferably a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), to work directly with students and collaboratively with teachers, Behavior Analysts, administrators, and other educational professionals throughout the school day.
The Behavior Technician/RBT supports students across academic, behavioral, social, emotional, vocational, and community-based settings. This includes classrooms, individual and small-group instruction, transitions, social activities, vocational experiences, community programming, field trips, and other school-sponsored activities.
Working under the direction of administrators and Behavior Analysts, the Behavior Technician/RBT helps students increase academic engagement, develop positive behaviors and social skills, strengthen independence, and successfully participate in their school and community. The technician also partners closely with teachers and educators to support students in accessing and mastering the educational curriculum.
The Behavior Technician/RBT helps maintain a safe, positive, and supportive school environment by implementing behavioral strategies, responding to behavioral events, collecting required data, and maintaining appropriate documentation. The technician develops trusting relationships with students and serves as an important resource to educational staff in understanding and supporting student behavior.
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is strongly preferred. Candidates with relevant experience working with students in educational, behavioral, special education, or youth development settings who are interested in obtaining RBT certification are also encouraged to apply.
Transportation responsibilities may be available through designated positions and may include support for community programming, field trips, after-school activities, and morning or afternoon transportation.
