We specialize in the treatment of basal cell and squamous cell skin cancers using radiation therapy delivered with the Xoft® Axxent® System. This innovative technology uses a patented, miniaturized X-ray source to deliver precise radiation directly to the treatment area. THE OPPORTUNITY We are looking for a self-motivated, organized, and patient-focused Radiation Therapist to join our growing team. This is more than a traditional Radiation Therapist role. Our therapists become an integral part of the dermatology practice and take an active role in leading the radiation therapy program at their location, while receiving ongoing support from our experienced oncology team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Accurately deliver and document radiation therapy treatments under the direction and oversight of the Radiation Oncology Team. Work collaboratively with the physician during consultation and simulation to help determine and deliver the appropriate treatment approach. Educate, instruct, and reassure patients throughout their treatment course, including providing guidance regarding expected skin reactions and wound care. Accurately enter, verify, and maintain patient treatment parameters within the electronic medical record. Participate in the clinical orientation and training of newly hired Radiation Therapists. Assist with patient scheduling, gathering information for prior authorizations, and ensuring accurate billing information. Create customized treatment cutouts and provide accurate measurements and information to Medical Physics. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment. Communicate effectively with dermatology staff, physicians, patients, and the DTS oncology support team. Follow all applicable radiation safety, quality assurance, regulatory, and clinical protocols. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program. ARRT certification required. Current state Radiation Therapy license for the state in which you will practice. Valid driver's license required. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a multidisciplinary team. EXPERIENCE Previous Radiation Therapy experience preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply. Experience with Xoft® / Elekta systems preferred, but training will be provided to qualified candidates. Experience in dermatology, oncology, or outpatient clinical settings is a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Ability to use hands to handle, feel, and manipulate equipment and materials. Ability to reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges, as required for safe and effective patient care. WHY DTS?
