Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor and delivery, ensuring both maternal and neonatal well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Provide care to a diverse patient age group including both neonates and adults.
Utilize SBAR communication for effective information exchange and patient safety.
Manage a 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit following inpatient rooming practices, with infants rooming in with mothers.
Utilize the OMNICELL medication system for medication management.
Ensure availability for weekend coverage, working every other weekend.

Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery.
First-time applicants will be screened for relevant experience.
Current certifications required:
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP
- AWHONN Beginner
Additional certifications preferred:
- AWHONN Advanced
- AWHONN Intermediate

Schedule

This position requires night shifts consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00. Please note that there are no block schedules in place for this role.

Special Procedures/Unit Details

The unit provides comprehensive labor and delivery services with a focus on mother-infant bonding during inpatient stays. Newborn nursery care will be employed as necessary for infants requiring additional support.

Additional Information

The role does not require or prefer charge nurse responsibilities. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
