Duties & Responsibilities
We are looking for a Barista to take order, prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea. Barista responsibilities include taking orders, educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations, up-selling special items etc. To be successful in this role, you should have previous barista skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates or the will to improve your coffee skill. You should be able to work various shifts. The barista will also be responsible for maintaining good fonctionment of the coffee machine and the ice machine (change filters, clean equipment, call customer service if one of machine is not working).
The ideal candidate will be passionate, as well as have a positive attitude, flexibility, and clear communication.
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers as they enter
- Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
- Take orders while paying attention to details
- Prepare beverages following recipes
- Serve beverages
- Keep the bar area clean
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate customer feedback to managers
SKILLS
- Previous work experience as a Barista
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations
- Flexibility to work various shifts. Week end mandatory
- Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
- Excellent communication skills
- Be detail oriented, passionate about high quality, able to work in a fast pace environment and multi-task
- Ability to problem solve, clearly communicate and maintain a positive attitude on a daily basis
- Flexible working hours, including weekends
- Capable of working in a fast-paced, production environment.
