Location: Times Square, New York, NY

Base Salary plus Commission

We are seeking an experienced and organized Catering Manager to oversee private events, group dining, and catering operations at a high-volume, full-service restaurant in the heart of Times Square. The ideal candidate is a hospitality professional with strong sales, event planning, and client relationship skills who can manage multiple events while delivering exceptional service and memorable guest experiences.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building client relationships, and can balance event coordination, revenue generation, and flawless execution.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of catering, private dining, group reservations, and special events from initial inquiry through event completion.

• Respond to event inquiries, prepare proposals, develop event packages, and follow up with prospective clients to secure bookings.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, local businesses, and repeat customers.

• Coordinate event details, including menus, pricing, guest counts, room layouts, timelines, staffing, and special requests.

• Conduct client consultations, site visits, and event planning meetings to ensure expectations are clearly understood.

• Collaborate with culinary and restaurant management teams to develop customized menus and ensure successful event execution.

• Oversee event setup, service, and breakdown while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and hospitality.

• Manage event contracts, deposits, payments, billing, and accurate booking records.

• Monitor catering sales, revenue goals, event profitability, and related performance metrics.

• Identify new business opportunities through networking, outreach, repeat business, and community partnerships.

• Ensure proper staffing and communication between the event team, front-of-house staff, and culinary department.

• Address client concerns and resolve issues professionally before, during, and after events.

• Maintain organized event calendars and ensure all departments are prepared for upcoming functions.

• Ensure compliance with restaurant policies, food safety standards, and applicable regulations.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in catering management, private dining, event planning, or restaurant hospitality.

• Experience managing corporate events, social gatherings, group dining, and private functions preferred.

• Strong sales and business development skills, with a proven ability to convert inquiries into bookings.

• Excellent communication, organization, negotiation, and client service skills.

• Ability to manage multiple events and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with event proposals, contracts, budgeting, and revenue tracking.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to anticipate client needs.

• Proficiency with reservation systems, event management software, and standard office applications.

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require.
