Associate Attorney

Established California Civil Defense Firm Seeking Litigation Associate Attorney - OC or LA

A well-established civil litigation and insurance defense firm with roots dating back to the early 1970s is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join their Orange County or Los Angeles team. The ideal candidate will have experience defending clients across a range of high-exposure matters including personal injury, habitability, products liability, premises liability, and transportation claims. This role offers the opportunity to handle substantive litigation work within a collaborative environment that emphasizes mentorship and professional development.

Offer :
$160,000 - $200,000+ base salary, contingent on experience

Qualifications :
Experience in insurance defense or civil litigation, including personal injury, habitability, products liability, premises liability, and/or transportation matters
Trial experience preferred
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
Active California Bar license in good standing
Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
Ability to manage multiple cases independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities :
Managing a caseload of defense litigation matters across personal injury, habitability, products liability, premises liability, and transportation claims
Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs
Appearing in court, settlement conferences, mediations, and supporting trial preparation
Preparing and organizing exhibits for depositions, hearings, and trials
Coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Collaborating with senior associates and partners on complex matters
