CNC Machine Operator – Lathe (2nd Shift)

Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

Pay Rate: $21.00 – $28.00 / hour (Dependent on Experience)

Location: Valencia / Santa Clarita, CA area

Position Summary

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts and components according to strict specifications. This role requires an individual with strong technical skills, fine attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring all products meet high-quality standards and production goals.

Responsibilities

• Set up, align, and operate CNC lathe machinery in accordance with required specifications.

• Load and unload raw materials and components into machines safely and efficiently.

• Produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tight tolerances.

• Inspect equipment prior to operation to ensure proper setup, tooling, and alignment.

• Perform basic and routine machine adjustments and preventative maintenance.

• Monitor machines during operation to ensure proper performance and make necessary offset/parameter adjustments.

• Troubleshoot operational issues promptly to minimize production downtime.

• Maintain a clean, organized work area and strictly follow all safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Experience: 1+ years of prior CNC machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility.

• Key Skills:

  • Familiarity with machining tools, precision measuring equipment, and FANUC controls.

  • Experience with multi-axis CNC lathes and manual lathe/milling setups is a plus.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact across team levels.

• Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating production needs.

• Excellent organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.

• Capable of safely lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs.

• Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for equipment operation.

• Comfortable working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment with varying seasonal temperatures, noise levels, and standard machining fluids.

• Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching required during machine adjustments and inspections.
