Candidates can learn more about the company’s portfolio and design inspiration by visiting Role Description The Business Development Manager – is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Detroit Metropolitan Area, with a mix of on-site client visits and some work-from-home flexibility. This role focuses on driving sales growth and market expansion by identifying new business opportunities with architects, designers, contractors, and property owners. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and qualifying leads, conducting product presentations and lunch-and-learn sessions, managing accounts, and building long-term relationships within the design and construction communities. The Business Development Manager coordinates closely with internal teams on pricing, proposals, project specifications, and marketing initiatives, while maintaining an active pipeline and accurate CRM records. The role also involves attending industry events, monitoring market trends, and providing feedback on product development and positioning to support sustainable revenue growth. Qualifications Demonstrated business development and sales skills in masonry and tile or related industries to contractors, builders, end-users, designers, and architects, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets. Experience cultivating relationships with architects, designers, contractors, and other key decision-makers in residential and commercial construction. Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, including the ability to deliver persuasive product demonstrations and project proposals. Knowledge of architectural design processes, construction workflows, and specification practices, preferably within stone, tile, or coverings products. Comfort with Salesforce.com, Microsoft, and basic data analysis to manage pipelines and forecast revenue. Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, organize travel within the Detroit Metropolitan Area and beyond, and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events as needed. Experience collaborating with marketing teams on campaigns, events, and content aimed at the design and construction community is beneficial.
