Bilingual Human Resources Generalist

Indorama Ventures Sustainable Solutions is seeking a Bilingual Human Resources Generalist to support end-to-end HR operations at its Athens, AL facility. This role works in partnership with corporate policies and applicable state and federal employment laws, reporting directly to the HR Manager while helping coordinate recruiting, employee relations, benefits, HRIS support, payroll coordination, and compliance. Role scope The Human Resources Generalist manages human resources functions and provides guidance across a range of sensitive and specialized HR needs. The position also supports employee engagement efforts and helps ensure facility teams follow company policies and practices. Key responsibilities Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of qualified applicants. Collaborate with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies needed for open roles. Provide support and guidance to management and staff on complex, specialized, and sensitive HR questions and issues. Administer routine HR tasks in delicate circumstances, including reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations. Coordinate with temporary and recruiting agencies as needed. Communicate regularly with employees at the facility on HR-related matters. Coordinate with Management and Plant Leadership to support consistent enforcement of company policies and practices. Develop and maintain job descriptions. Administer and process FMLA requests. Conduct investigations related to employee grievances and determine resolutions. Prepare and maintain shift maps and communicate staffing changes to the management team. Update and maintain plant HRIS systems and benefit systems. Work with benefit carriers regularly and administer benefits for employees. Assist with time and attendance and process weekly payroll in ADP. With HR Manager approval, provide accounting with monthly financial reports or payroll and benefits information. Support employee engagement initiatives by collaborating with the leadership and management teams. Assist with required audits and reports related to HR functions. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including reviewing policies and practices to support adherence. Stay current on HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law. Work regularly with the EHS Manager on items related to incidents and workers’ compensation issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bilingual ability is required. BS degree in Human Resources Management (or similar) required, plus 1-2 years of related experience; alternatively, 3-5 years of relevant work experience is preferred. HR certification such as SHRM-CP , SHRM-SCP , PHR , and/or SPHR is preferred. Strong knowledge of applicable employment law is required. Strong knowledge and experience with ADP is preferred. Ability to take initiative, multi-task, prioritize, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment. Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds .
