Responsibilities

How You'll Make an Impact

• Deliver accurate and timely service to internal and external departments
• Prepare standard and ad hoc journal entries for month-end close, execute complex account reconciliations and analyze general ledger accounts
• Utilize software applications to compile and summarize accounting information for analysis and reporting purposes, presenting results as needed
• Review processes to identify opportunities for improvement and standardization
• Examine employee and transactional details to validate payroll entries on balance sheet and income statement
• Provide insight into data variances, communicate findings and support audit processes
• Prepare work papers, reporting requests, analyses and special projects in accordance with management and audit requirements
• Assist staff team members with troubleshooting work issues
• Execute duties in compliance with GAAP, internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, adhering to company policies
• Perform other tasks as requested by supervisors or management

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Experience

• 4+ years general ledger accounting experience including account reconciliations and journal entries

Skills

• Strong knowledge of account reconciliations, journal entries and general ledger account analysis
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially MS Excel using pivot tables and vlookups
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, able to convey ideas and issues effectively to all levels
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to analyze transactions, determine proper accounting and understand variances
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks while meeting deadlines
• Effective prioritization and organization skills
• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision, delivering quality and accurate service and work products
• Attention to detail and ability to understand oral and written communication
• Participation in meetings, openness to new ideas and feedback
• Ability to use assigned computers and software applications
• Knowledge of general accounting theory and concepts
• Experience working with general ledger ERP software

Preferred Qualifications

Education

• Master's degree in Accountancy
• Certified Public Accountant
