Job Title: Human Resources Specialist / Facility Security Specialist Job Description
The Human Resources Specialist / Facility Security Specialist administers day-to-day HR functions while ensuring full compliance with site security requirements. This position partners closely with employees, leadership, and external partners to support recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR systems, while also overseeing facility security programs, access control, and security training. The role offers the opportunity to shape a new position within a growing manufacturing organization and contribute directly to both people operations and security compliance.
Responsibilities- Coordinate the full recruitment lifecycle, including posting roles, screening candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, and supporting hiring decisions.
- Lead onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new hires, including documentation, orientation, and integration into the organization.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and leave programs, ensuring accurate enrollment and ongoing maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
- Support employee relations by responding to questions, addressing concerns, and assisting in the resolution of workplace issues in a fair and consistent manner.
- Assist with performance management processes, including documentation, tracking, and coordination of performance reviews and related initiatives.
- Support training initiatives by coordinating and tracking employee training related to HR, compliance, and security requirements.
- Process new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, and other employee status changes within HR systems and related platforms.
- Serve as the Facility Security Specialist and ensure ongoing compliance with site security requirements and established security policies.
- Issue and terminate employee and contractor access badges upon hire, role change, and termination, maintaining appropriate access levels at all times.
- Conduct security briefings and debriefings for employees and contractors, ensuring clear understanding of security expectations and protocols.
- Deliver annual security training and awareness programs to maintain compliance and promote a strong security culture.
- Perform self-inspections and internal audits of facility security practices and records, identifying and addressing gaps or areas for improvement.
- Maintain comprehensive facility security records, logs, and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within both Human Resources and Security functions by recommending and implementing process enhancements.
- Collaborate with leadership on special projects, reporting, and administrative tasks as needed to support organizational goals.
- Prioritize and manage multiple HR and security tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience with core HR functions such as recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and benefits administration.
- Experience administering employee benefits and leave programs and maintaining accurate personnel records.
- Strong understanding of employment laws, HR best practices, and regulatory compliance at the federal and state levels.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive personnel and security information with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency with HR systems and HRIS platforms for processing hires, terminations, and employee status changes.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, support employees, and collaborate with leadership and external partners.
- Experience working on secure sites or within environments that require adherence to security policies and procedures.
- Previous experience serving as a Facility Security Specialist or in a similar security-focused role is preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with precision machined components or industrial operations, is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with security policies, access control procedures, and security training requirements.
- Experience using HRIS platforms such as ADP or similar systems.
- Ability to contribute new ideas and help build processes for a newly created role.
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.
The organization is a manufacturer of precision machined components, specializing in close-tolerance parts, assemblies, prototyping, complex fabrication, production runs, and design. The company employs more than 50 people and is in the process of consolidating all operations into a new, larger facility to support continued growth. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $38.00/hr.
