Test Engineer

Salary Range: $65,290.00 To $120,000.00 Annually Dynamic Manufacturing is searching for a Test Engineer to join our growing team! The Test Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining testing strategies, sequences, and machines for automotive transmissions, engines, drive units, valve bodies, EV batteries, torque converters, transfer cases, and other automotive drivetrain and powertrain parts. The Test Engineer is expected to have a demonstrable understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and electrical concepts. They should also be able to analyze test result data, suggest and execute changes to testing procedures and limits, design and conduct testing experiments, and collaborate with product engineers, operations, and root cause technicians to improve performance metrics. Roles and Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain testing strategies, sequences, dynamometer test stands, solenoid and valve body calibration and test machines, and EV battery end‑of‑line tests. Mentor less experienced Test Engineers. Oversee testing equipment capability, capacity, and performance. Become or remain expert in automotive transmission, engine, drive unit, valve body, EV battery, torque converter, transfer case, and other drivetrain parts. Apply physics, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and electrical concepts. Advise and lead testing experiments to validate products and testing sequences. Develop applications for analyzing testing procedures, results, and limits. Lead efforts on machine throughput, capacity, performance, maintenance, calibration, root‑cause analysis, and testing KPIs. Utilize programming languages and database structures to facilitate testing. Lead PPAP activities related to test engineering functions. Qualifications Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (8‑11 years). Practical experience and demonstrated knowledge of automotive transmissions, engines, drive units, valve bodies, EV batteries, torque converters, transfer cases, and other drivetrain parts. Experience with data acquisition systems (NI hardware, Measurement & Computing, PLCs, Arduino, Raspberry Pi). Experience with NVH sensors and analysis. Designing and implementing industrial test machines. Reading electrical schematics (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Visio). Creating and reading mechanical drawings (Inventor). Creating pneumatic and hydraulic drawings. Knowledge of hydraulic & pneumatic principles, parts selection, and operations. Experience with Bauer, WMA, and VMC testing software/hardware. PLC, HMI programming (Ladder Logic or others). Programming and interfacing with LabVIEW, CVI, C, and Teststand.Industrial signal conditioners (Dataforth, Analog Devices). Best practices for wiring, shielding, grounding, and signal noise cancellation.PCB design. Creating user‑friendly PC graphical interfaces and HMIs. SQL databases, data files, recipes, and test results. Maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and industrial equipment. DC and three‑phase motor selection and control. VFD selection, wiring, control, and programming. Relay circuit selection and safety relays. Motion control. Industrial communication protocols (Ethernet, Modbus). Ability to understand regular operation of equipment with minimal documentation. Strong communication skills; lean and continuous improvement mindset. Organized; skilled in project management, technical writing, and thorough documentation. Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
