Position Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Medical/Surgical unit provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider. This role is essential in supporting patient recovery, monitoring clinical conditions, and delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

• Schedule: Flexible; shifts and days vary

• Supervisory Responsibilities: None
• Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and treatments within scope of practice
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes to the care team
• Assist with procedures and support patient care activities
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and recovery
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
• Collaborate with Registered Nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
• Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive care environment

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensure: Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in North Carolina
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required

Employment Requirements

• Compliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered)
